The popularity of our Jo’burg to Cape Town train tours during December has again exceeded all expectations. ALL the tours are fully booked and the enquiries and bookings keep on coming in. In stead of overcrowding the current tours, we have rather organised three extra train tours during the peak period – to be hosted at the same tour price. The new dates are: 15 - 21 Dec, 22 - 28 Dec & 29 Dec - 4 Jan ’11. More info

- That our banking details HAVE NOT CHANGED. Please be kind enough to advise us should you get a call, fax or e-mail telling you that payment for tours should be paid into another account and not the normal JB Train Tours account. Please be on the look out for this type of fraud.
- That the annual BMW Motorrad BikeFest will again be hosted in Oudtshoorn over the 2011 Easter weekend (22 – 25 April 2011). We are hosting again a train tour to take the bikers from Jo’burg to the event, allowing them more time, with fresh bodies, to enjoy the local routes.
- That the annual and 32nd Buffalo Rally will be hosted again by the Nomads of Cape Town from the 18th to 20th March 2011, again in Mossel Bay. We are hosting a train tour from Jo’burg, with motorbikes on the train, for this event as well.
- That you’ll receive the 2011 Year Programme of all our train tours by e-mail this week.
- That the Trans Natal Tourist class train has been permamently withdrawn to operate between Jo’burg and Durban – effective 1st August 2010. This has resulted in all our Durban train tours being negatively affected.

JHB to CPT
The Golden Lions rugby supporters travelled by train to Cape Town to support their side playing Western Province at Newlands on Sat 17th July 2010. Although their side lost, the tour was a huge success and according to GLRU official, Ms. Olga van der Struys, this tour will become an annual event. |
Kruger National Park:
Cape Town to KNP & Lowveld
This tour is currently in progress. The tour group will sleep 3 nights IN the KNP. |
7 Provinces & 3 Trains:
Circular route through South Africa
The winter forced a lesser number of people to travel on this tour, but snow was seen on the Western Cape’s mountains and Gauteng was re-discovered by some passengers! |

This inaugural train tour allowed passengers to participate in one of the social highlights of the 2010 calendar. It was huge fun!
