The Good Hope Quilters’ Guild invites you to the 16th South African National Quilt Festival to be held at the Bloemhof Girls’ School in Stellenbosch from the 1 - 7 July, 2011.

Children

Children ages 2 – 9 pay the above ‘Child’ prices. Younger children, sharing a bed with parent, will travel free of charge.

Deposit

A R500 per person non-refundable deposit will secure your place. The balance must be paid by latest six weeks before departure date. If NOT paid, your place will be cancelled automatically.

Note

Passengers may pay a monthly instalment and then pay the last payment six weeks before departure date.

Included in price

Return transport by train to Cape Town, 2 nights’ accommodation and bedding on the train, 8 nights B&B accommodation in the school hostel, bus transport from CPT station to Stellenbosch (return), JB Train Tours representative travelling along, as well as certain meals on the train, are included in the tour price.

Meals

A daily breakfast and two suppers (on the train) are included in the tour price. All other (tasty) meals are available at very reasonable prices on the train and in Stellenbosch (at the hostel or in town).

Excluded from the tour price

Registration Fees for the Quilt Festival, personal expenses, meals not mentioned and Comprehensive Travel Insurance.

Route

You will travel on the Trans Karoo Tourist Class Train from Johannesburg to Cape Town via Potchefstroom, Klerksdorp, Kimberley, De Aar, Beaufort West and Worcester. Passengers may embark or dis-embark at any point en route. Please indicate on your Reservation Form.

Accommodation

Passengers will be accommodated for eight nights in the “Hoër Meisieskool Bloemhof” hostel – it is on the same premises as where the Quilt Festival will be hosted. There are two beds per room with good but shared facilities. I.e.: Communal cloak rooms. The hostel is well located in town, near the town’s CBD.

Passengers should limit their luggage. (See FAQ’s). Sewing machines may be brought along. An extra luggage fee could be charged if very big.

Registration for the Quilt Festival

All train tour passengers still need to register for the Quilt Festival. Registration Forms should only be available from December 2010 onwards.

Bookings for the train tour have opened already and are limited to only 50 people. Closing date for bookings is 15 February 2011 or prior if all the places are booked.
