From Johannesburg (Return)
This tour is ideal for those who’d like to attend the Buff, but does not want to ride all the way through the Karoo, as well as for those who would like to explore new destinations in a well structured, organised and safe manner.
This tour is a combination of: Travelling by train (with your bike on the train with you) plus enjoying and attending the Buff.
The main purpose of this tour is to give bikers the opportunity to get to the Buff safely, well rested and arrive freshly for all the activities to be hosted.
Why travel by train?
Who may come along? Any person who has booked his/her place at the 2011 Buff. (Visit http://www.nomads.org.za/buffalo_rally.html) By the way, you must bring your own bike! It is NOT a pre-requisite that you have to belong to any club. This tour is suitable for riders from Gauteng, North West, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and even KZN & the Northern Free State.
Note #1: Do it together. Take your pillion along. (Sorry, no Sheila’s provided!)
Note #2: Just calculate how much you save on wear and tear if NOT riding all the way to Mossel Bay on your bike.Name of tour 2011 Buffalo Rally Motorbike-on-Train Tour - from JHB

Riding from Beaufort West to Mossel Bay
After the off-loading of the bikes in Beaufort West, we suggest you go for a cup of coffee at the Wimpy whilst waiting for sunrise and then to Mossel Bay via Oudtshoorn. A journey of 253 km through the spectacular Meiringspoort & then via the Robinson mountain pass. However, if a biker would like to follow his/her own route to Mossel Bay, he/she is most welcome to do so. The same applies on the return trip to Beaufort West station on the Monday evening.

Each bike owner is responsible for his/her own insurance on the bike.

Bring your medical fund card and medicines along.

Casual clothing plus your normal personal biking gear.

Just take what you need. Don’t take the whole wardrobe. You have to travel with it on your bike after all. Please mark each piece of luggage or bag clearly with your name on it.
Safety
We do NOT compromise on safety during the tour. We have a sound record on ALL our tours and intend to keep it that way.
