Are you tired of driving, looking for accommodation and worrying about the logistics? We’ll take you there. This is our 9th annual tour from Gauteng to the Comrades marathon. Previous years we went by train, but unfortunately the running times of the train don’t fit in with the dates and times of the Comrades. Hence, we have to travel by bus.

When travelling with us, you don’t have to worry about increasing petrol prices, tollgate fees, heavy traffic, driving back, worrying about accommodation in DBN, getting to the start or getting home after the race. It is so much easier with us and VERY price competitive.

Any person who is interested in going to the 2011 Comrades marathon may join this tour. I.e.: Runners, supporters, family, friends, children and girl friend, from anywhere.

Accommodation over the ‘Comrades weekend’ in Durban is very scarce and expensive. We were fortunate to secure a number of rooms in a Hotel in KZN! This package is real value for money.

This is the budget tour, traveling by semi-luxury bus and returning back to Gauteng on the night of the race. Only one night’s accommodation is included in the tour package.

We are hosting another bus tour, traveling by luxury coach and sleeping two nights in a hotel in Durban. Tour price for the luxury coach tour is from R1990 per person.

Return transport on a semi-luxury bus; One night’s accommodation (B&B) in a hotel in KZN; certain meals; bus transport to the Race Registration pick-up at the finish line (in PMB).

Deposit

A R500 per person non-refundable deposit is needed when booking is done. The balance is to be paid by latest 28th April 2011. If this is not done, you'll forfeit your reservation and deposit. No cancellation after the above date.

Meals

One breakfast, Continental Breakfast (Bread, toast, tea & coffee) on Race day, a light lunch on Saturday & light supper on Sunday are included in the tour price. All other meals are available en route or at the Hotel.

Route

You will travel from Gauteng to Durban via Harrismith & Pietermaritzburg to be able to register for the race in Durban on the Saturday afternoon.

Passengers may join at Heidelberg as well.

Accommodation

It is provided in "The Beach Hotel" (in Durban) – 1 night (or similar hotel). The rooms are spacious & the facilities are great.

Bedding

It is provided at the hotel.

Transport to Durban

You will travel in a semi-luxury coach with a 3 - 2 seat configuration and maximum 60 passengers on board.

Transport in Durban

Bus transport is provided (included in the tour package) between the hotel, Race registration and Expo & Finish line.

Luggage

Please limit your luggage to one bag per person.

We suggest you hand in your clothing at the start to be collected at the finish line OR you put warm clothing & luggage in the bus before going to the start. It normally becomes very cold in PMB after the race.

Race information

Please read your Comrades marathon Information brochure well.

Registration

Registration for the race is normally done at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Durban. This will be done on the Saturday before the race and it closes at 17:00

Please complete the attached Reservation Form and return it (fax or e-mail), with the Bank Deposit slip, to the tour organiser (JB Train Tours). Closing date is when all the spaces are taken. (Like all the previous years). We suggest you book now. Group/club bookings welcome.
