The above prices are for Tours No. 1, 4, 4A & 5

All the other tours will be R550 per person extra, due to peak-season’s higher transport & hotel prices.

Children

Children ages 2 – 9 pay the above ‘Child’ prices. Younger children, sharing a bed with parent, will travel free of charge.

Deposit

A R500 per person non-refundable deposit will secure your place. The balance must be paid by latest six weeks before departure date. If NOT paid, your place will be cancelled automatically.

Note

Passengers may pay a monthly instalment and then pay the last payment six  weeks before departure date.

Included in price

Return transport by train to Cape Town, 2 nights’ accommodation and bedding on the train, 4 nights B&B accommodation in a top hotel in Cape Town, free bus transport to excursions, entry fee to Cape Point, tour guide, as well as certain meals, are included in the tour price.

Meals

A daily breakfast and two suppers are included in the tour price. All other (tasty) meals are available at very reasonable prices on the train and in Cape Town.

Excluded from the tour price

Entry fees at tourist destinations. I.e.: Table Mountain, Robben Island, etc. personal expenses, meals not mentioned and Comprehensive Travel Insurance.

Note

It is highly recommended that passengers book their places on the Robben Island trip well in advance. It does happen often that these trips are fully booked. We suggest that you book your Robben Island trip on Day 3 or Day 5 of your tour - a morning trip is recomended, departing at 09:00, as per your applicable tour dates.

Route

You will travel on the Trans Karoo Tourist Class Train from Johannesburg to Cape Town via Potchefstroom, Klerksdorp, Kimberley, De Aar, Beaufort West and Worcester. Passengers may embark or dis-embark at any point en route. Please indicate on your Reservation Form.

Accommodation

Passengers will be accommodated for four nights in a top hotel in CBD Cape Town. The rooms are spacious, with good facilities, (I.e.: Gym, pool, sauna, terrace, restaurant, cocktail bar, TV in the room, en-suite bathroom, etc.) and the hotel is well located in town. www.leisurehotels.co.za

Notes

This is a casual holiday train tour. It is ideal for families; those who haven’t been on a train holiday or haven’t visited Cape Town before, at a rate not to be repeated.
